I am baffled at the recent changes to Workspaces

Without a doubt, Edge's Workspaces is the sole reason I use it as my main daily browser.

But look at these changes. Almost every change is a reversion and taking away support for what was once available.

Why take away Sharing and Collaboration? And most infuriating, why disable the ability to lock tabs?

Feature Previous Edge Workspaces New Edge Workspaces
Task Support Supports working on multiple tasks shared across groups Supports working on multiple tasks for individual use

Is there a replacement functionality for Workplace collaboration / sharing / invites?

I've heavily utilized the sharing and collaboration functionality.

Sharing websites / research / work through OneNote and/or MS Loop doesn't work as well.
