Customer Retention Overview (Power BI Report)

The Customer Retention Overview report analyzes customer sales behaviors and retention trends, showcasing sales metrics and customer volume. By visualizing customer retention over time, retention by location demographics, and loyalty sales metrics for key customers, this report provides a high-level understanding of customer trends. You can use the data to continuously improve customer relations, identify developing markets, and anticipate sales risks.

Note

By default, the Customer Retention Overview report reflects customer statistics for the current relative fiscal year. To report customer retention by a different date period, you can edit the Sales App Customer Retention Overview page filters to modify or remove this Fiscal Relative Year filter.

Use the report

Management and sales teams use the report to monitor customer retention metrics, informing strategic sales decisions and maintaining quality customer relationships.

Sales Managers can use this report to identify emerging sales demographics and analyze customer engagement statistics. For example, the Sales Amount by Location can empower managers to implement campaigns targeting specific regions. Additionally, the Customer Retention Over Time analysis informs on changing customer buying trends. These insights can be used to action key marketing strategies and sales decisions to maximize sales performance.

Salespeople can use this report to track the behaviors of key customers, empowering focused sales strategies to strengthen customer loyalty. For example, by analyzing the Sales by Customer retention figures, you identify a key Customer who was Lost in the current period. In response, you reach out to the customer to improve their engagement for future purchases. Additionally, for customers who exhibit consistent Sales Returning figures, you decide to reward their loyalty with a discount to strengthen the customer relationship. These insights can be used to effectively manage customer relationships and optimize sales performance.
