Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management and Microsoft Security Exposure Management integration

The Vulnerability Management section in the Microsoft Defender portal is now located under Exposure management. With this change, you can now consume and manage security exposure data and vulnerability data in a unified location, to enhance your existing Vulnerability Management features. Learn more.

These changes are relevant for Preview customers (Microsoft Defender XDR + Microsoft Defender for Identity preview option).

As part of the integration of Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management to Microsoft Security Exposure Management, the Vulnerability Management section in the Microsoft Defender portal is now located under Exposure management.

Note

This change is relevant to Microsoft Defender XDR + Microsoft Defender for Endpoint preview customers. Existing Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management customers continue to see the Vulnerability Management page directly under the Microsoft Defender portal navigation.

For preview customers, the Vulnerability Management section in the Microsoft Defender portal is now located under Exposure management > Vulnerability management.

Location of vulnerability management pages and features (preview customers)

The following table details where each vulnerability management UI section was previously located and its new location under Exposure management.

  • If you're a Microsoft Defender XDR + Microsoft Defender for Endpoint preview customer, the new locations apply to your scenario.
  • If you're an existing customer, the previous locations apply to your scenario.
