BitLocker recovery key not working

I received a blue screen of death. It asked me for my BitLocker recovery key. I went to aka.ms/myrecoverykeyfaq and found the recovery key. I entered it; it looped me back to the blue screen of death. Is the issue that I need a new recovery key?
