When you mark an email in your junk folder as not junk it sends a report. Where do you tell outlook which email address to send that report to? It is currently sending it to an email that no longer exists and goes to junk as undeliverable. Can I change that? At least it is moving the email into my inbox correctly.

    Hi @Aldrich Office,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

I would like to provide you with the following information:

I understand that you would like to change the email address used to receive reports submitted by users, including reports for phishing, junk, or not junk emails.

    Please access the following link:

    https://security.microsoft.com/securitysettings/userSubmission

Note: Accessing this website requires an account with the appropriate administrative permissions, such as Security Administrator or Global Administrator.

Under User reported settings, scroll down to Reported item destinations.

Here, select Microsoft and my reporting mailbox, then add the mailbox you want to use to receive the report emails.

You may refer to the following documentation for more information:

I hope this information is helpful. Please follow these steps and let me know if it works for you. If not, we can work together to resolve this.

Thank you for your patience and your understanding. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please feel free to share them in the comments on this post so I can continue to support you.

I look forward to continuing the conversation.

The destination for “Not junk” reports in Outlook on the web is not controlled by a per-user setting or an email address that can be changed in the Outlook UI. Where those reports go is determined by the organization’s Microsoft 365/Exchange Online configuration (User reported settings and reporting mailbox) and is managed by an administrator, not from individual mailbox settings.

When using the built-in Report button and choosing Not junk on messages in the Junk Email folder, Outlook:

    • Moves the message from Junk Email back to Inbox.
    • Sends the report according to the organization’s User reported settings (to Microsoft, to a central reporting mailbox, or both).

There is no end-user option in Outlook on the web to specify or change the email address that receives these reports. If reports are going to a non-existent mailbox and generating NDRs (undeliverable messages), an Exchange/Microsoft 365 admin must update or remove the reporting mailbox configuration in the tenant’s security/compliance settings.

For end users, the only available controls related to junk handling in Outlook on the web are things like:

    • Marking items as Not junk to move them out of Junk.
    • Managing Safe senders and domains and Blocked senders under Settings > Mail > Junk email so messages are routed correctly, but this does not change where “Not junk” reports are sent.

If the undeliverable notices are a problem, the next step is to contact the organization’s Microsoft 365/Exchange administrator so they can correct the reporting mailbox or user-reported message configuration.
