Supplemental Feed — "There was no matching Full Offer uploaded" error despite products existing in primary feed

Hi,

I'm testing the newly launched Supplemental Feed feature in Microsoft Merchant Center (launched Sept 2025) and running into an issue.

Setup:

  • Primary feed: Manually uploaded tab-delimited .txt file (Online Product, US, English)
  • Supplemental feed: Created as Supplemental type, same country (US), same feed label
  • Goal: Update custom_label_4 for existing products

File format used:

id custom_label_4

55644576448777 New Test Custom Label Bing

56298545709321 New Test Custom Label Bing

Error received (on every row):

"There was no matching Full Offer uploaded, so this offer was ignored. First Upload a full offer and then resend the update."

What I've verified:

  • The id values in the supplemental feed exactly match the product IDs in the primary feed
  • Both feeds have the same country of sale (US) and feed label
  • Products are approved and active in the merchant center
  • Tried both CSV and TSV formats — same error on both

Questions:

  1. Definition of "Full Offer" — What exactly constitutes a "Full Offer" in the context of supplemental feeds? Does it mean the primary feed must contain ALL required product attributes (title, link, image_link, price, etc.), or is there a specific submission type that qualifies as a "Full Offer"?
  2. Is there a specific processing order required — e.g., must the primary feed be re-uploaded/refreshed before the supplemental feed is submitted?
  3. Is there any additional linking/association step needed between primary and supplemental feeds beyond matching country + feed label + product ID?
  4. Are there known issues or limitations with the supplemental feed feature at this stage?
  5. Diagnostics tool — Is there a way to verify within the UI that a supplemental feed is correctly associated to a primary feed before processing? Any debug/preview mode?
  6. Support escalation path — If the issue persists, what is the recommended escalation path specifically for Supplemental Feed bugs — is there a dedicated team or ticket category for Merchant Center feed issues?

Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi Harsh,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Advertising Learn Q&A Platform!

I appreciate that you are currently testing our supplemental feed feature. From your statement, it looks like the feed is being rejected and the error message is about "No matching Full Offer”

Supplemental feeds allow you to update specific product details in your product catalog without editing your primary feed. This is a streamlined way to manage your catalog, especially when frequent or targeted updates are required.

    1. What is a “Full Offer”?
      • In Merchant Center a “Full Offer” is simply a product record in your primary feed that includes all of the required attributes used to generate its product ID. At minimum you must supply these fields in your primary feed: description , id, image_link, price, title etc. You can check the full list on Product Attributes
      • If any of those are missing or your feed hasn’t fully processed, the system won’t see it as an existing offer and your supplemental rows will be ignored.
    2. Processing order
      • Always let your primary feed upload and fully finish processing first. You can do a manual “Fetch now” or wait for the scheduled fetch to complete. Once you see the primary feed in Merchant Center’s Feeds > Diagnostics with no errors, immediately upload your supplemental feed. If you upload them too close together, the supplemental may run before the primary is ready.
    3. Matching/linking requirements
      • Beyond matching id + feed label + country, there isn’t any extra link step. Just be sure that: • The feed label you set in the supplemental setup exactly matches the one on the primary. • The iso-country code and language are identical. • Your id casing is consistent (IDs are case-sensitive).
    4. Known issues/limitations
      • This feature is still in “new release” territory. As far as public docs go there aren’t any hard limits beyond the fact that you can only update existing offers (you cannot add new ones via supplemental). If your primary feed record lacks any required field, it won’t count as a match.
    5. Diagnostics & preview
      • In Merchant Center go to Feeds > Diagnostics. You can: a) Select your primary feed and confirm all offers are indexed (no missing required fields). b) Select your supplemental feed after upload—any matching‐errors will show up here.
      • There’s no separate “dry-run” mode, but the Diagnostics page is the best place to see association issues before items go live.
    6. Escalation path
      • If you’ve confirmed your primary feed is truly complete and you’re still stuck, you can contact us at the below hoops via phone call or chat

I hope that the information provided here can partly answer your question. I’ve sent you a private message. Please don’t hesitate to reply if you require further assistance.
