Hey there! Nice to meet you!

Kindly follow the guide on the official Microsoft website to investigate and locate the $142.66. charge from Microsoft on this link:

    https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/how-to-investigate-a-billing-charge-from-microsoft-398c5328-364c-d5e4-ea8f-f5ad60562a93

If you're able to find the transaction, you can check if it is eligible for a refund through this link:

    https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/how-to-get-a-refund-on-a-microsoft-subscription-67dca30b-b323-44d5-acc2-e02f9902c472

You may also try contacting Microsoft Support for further assistance in tracking the transaction:

    https://support.microsoft.com/home/contact?SourceApp=smc2&ContactUsExperienceEntryPointAssetId=S.HP.SmcContactUsLanding

Type "Billing Issue" > click "Get Help" > Scroll down to Sign in to Contact Support > Microsoft 365 and Office > Billing and Payment Updates > Confirm > Chat with a support agent in your web browser

If you and the Support Team are unable to find the transaction in all of your accounts, please be advised that unless the account owner is able to access the account, subscription cancellation is not possible, and Microsoft personnel cannot retrieve this information.

You will need to reach out directly to your bank and request to freeze all charges from Microsoft, cancelling the subscription on its renewal in the process.

You may also need to request a new payment method.

Thank you for your understanding! Please let me know if you need anything else.

    Best regards,

    Darhyl

To review charges, change or cancel subscriptions, and request a refund, direct contact with Microsoft Support is required because billing and account data cannot be accessed here.

For a home Microsoft 365/Office subscription and billing help, use one of these options:

    1. Go to the Microsoft support contact page for home products
      • Use the option to Chat or receive a call back from a technical support expert:
        • This is available if there is a Microsoft 365 Basic, Microsoft 365 Personal, Microsoft 365 Family, or Microsoft 365 Premium subscription.
      • Choose the product (Microsoft 365/Office) and a billing/subscription category.
      • Select Chat or Call back to reach a live agent.
    2. If sign-in or account access is an issue
      • Use the I need to talk to a customer support agent option from the Microsoft account help page to reach an agent who can look at the account and billing.
    3. If accessibility or disability support is needed
      • Contact the Microsoft Disability Answer Desk for technical assistance related to accessibility. The team is trained on assistive technologies and can help in multiple languages, including American Sign Language. Government, commercial, or enterprise users should use the enterprise Disability Answer Desk.

    Explain to the agent:

    • That this is a home subscription.
    • The recent charge amount and date.
    • That only basic Word usage is needed and that the subscription may no longer be appropriate.

    The agent can:

    • Review what subscription is active and what was charged.
    • Help cancel or change the subscription to something cheaper if appropriate.
    • Check eligibility for a refund according to Microsoft’s subscription refund policies.
