Whenever I open Microsoft Edge, it automatically opens Google. I contacted Windows Support, and after checking the issue, they advised me to reach out to Microsoft Business Support. I have a Windows Business account and would like assistance with this problem: As you are using thew winds 11 business operating system, this puts limitation of making the changes on the PC, which is why we are unable to repaired the Microsoft or uninstall the chrome. In this best option would be to contact business support.

Because the device is running Windows 11 Business and appears to be managed (policies controlled by an organization), some settings and repair options for Microsoft Edge may be restricted by admin policy. However, the following built-in troubleshooting steps can still be tried if available on the device:

    1. Restart the PC
A running process or program might be interfering with Edge. Restart the computer and try opening Edge again.
    2. Check that Microsoft Edge is up to date
If Edge opens at all (even briefly):
      1. Select Settings and more (the three dots in the upper-right).
      2. Select Settings > About Microsoft Edge.
      3. If an update is available, apply it and then restart Edge.
    3. Clear browsing data (if Edge opens)
If Edge starts but behaves incorrectly (e.g., always redirecting to a specific page like Google):
      1. Select Settings and more > History > Open history page.
      2. Select Delete browsing data.
      3. Set Time range to All time.
      4. Select at least Browsing history and Cached images and files, then select Clear now.
      5. Test Edge again.
    4. Clear all browsing data (deeper reset)
      If the behavior persists:
      1. Select Settings and more > History > Open history page.
      2. Select Delete browsing data.
      3. Set Time range to All time.
      4. Select all checkboxes, then Clear now.
      5. Close and reopen Edge.
    5. Check third‑party security software
If antivirus or security software (for example, Norton, McAfee) is installed:
      1. Open the security app.
      2. Check for and install any security updates.
      3. After updating, restart the PC and test Edge again.
    6. Scan the device for malware
Malware can interfere with browsers and cause redirects:
      • On Windows 10/11, run a manual scan using Windows Security as described in the "Run a scan manually" section of Stay protected with Windows Security.
      • Restart after the scan and test Edge.
    7. Repair Microsoft Edge (if allowed by policy)
If the account has permission to modify apps:
      1. Close Microsoft Edge for all users on the device.
      2. Go to Start > Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
      3. In the list, select Microsoft Edge and then select Modify.
        • If Modify is not available, Edge is likely managed by the organization and only the admin/IT can repair it.
      4. When prompted Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?, select Yes.
      5. Ensure the device is connected to the internet and select Repair.
        • Browser data and settings should not be affected by repair.
    8. If Edge still cannot be fixed due to business policies
If options like Modify, clearing data, or changing startup/search settings are disabled, the device is likely governed by organizational policies. In that case, only the organization’s IT admin or Microsoft Business Support can change those restrictions. Provide them with:
      • Confirmation that Edge cannot be repaired or modified under Settings > Apps.
      • Description that Edge always opens Google or does not behave as expected.
      • Any error messages seen when trying the steps above.
