I have tried everything, and Microsoft support does not help; they have no clue how to fix, just saying you can sign in to your account, and nothing is wrong

    Please sign into https://portal.azure.com

Then click on Manage Entra ID

    Then click on Manage tenants.

Do you see the organization listed? If so, check th box and click on "Leave".

If it doesn’t let you I need to know what it says exactly. Thanks.

For a personal Microsoft account that appears to be stuck in a work organization/tenant, only limited self-service options exist; anything beyond those must be handled by Microsoft account support, not Entra/Azure support.

Steps to try and what they mean:

    1. Check if any organizations are actually linked to the account
      • Go to the personal Microsoft account dashboard: https://login.live.com/ (or via the "Microsoft account dashboard" link under "Your Microsoft account").
      • From there, use the "Work or school account help" and "Work or school account" sections only if there is a separate work/school account; otherwise stay within the personal account area.
      • If a page like account.microsoft.com/organizations shows no organizations, then there is no visible, user-removable organization link on the consumer side.
    2. Understand why myaccount.microsoft.com does not work
      • https://myaccount.microsoft.com is the My Account portal for work or school accounts, not for personal accounts. Personal accounts cannot use this portal to manage organizations.
      • The "Manage organizations" and "Leave organization" options described in the My Account portal documentation apply only to work or school accounts, not to personal Microsoft accounts.
    3. When the account is truly a personal account but is treated as part of an organization
      • Personal accounts can be invited as guest accounts into Microsoft Entra organizations. This is often what causes a personal account to appear tied to a work directory.
      • The normal self-service way to leave an organization as a guest is via the My Account portal’s Organizations page, but that requires a work/school sign-in and does not apply cleanly to personal accounts.
    4. Why support may be redirecting
      • Entra/Azure support can only help with Entra ID (work/school/tenant) issues and will typically redirect to Outlook/Microsoft account support when the problem is with a personal Microsoft account.
      • For a personal account that cannot be closed or appears stuck to a tenant, escalation must go through Microsoft account / Outlook support, not Azure/Entra.
    5. Practical next step
      • Use the consumer support paths under Get help with your Microsoft account:
        • Start from: "Get help with your Microsoft account" → "Microsoft account dashboard" and the related support flows.
        • If sign-in works but the account cannot be closed because of an organization link that is not visible or removable, explicitly request escalation on the consumer side (Outlook/Microsoft account support), not Azure.
      • If sign-in itself is a problem, use the "I can't sign in to my Microsoft account" sign-in helper tool, which can detect many account issues and guide the next steps.

Because the account is personal and appears stuck to a work directory without any visible organization in the consumer portal, resolution requires Microsoft’s internal support (data protection / Microsoft account team) to manually adjust or remove the hidden organization link. This cannot be fixed from the Entra/Azure admin side or by self-service in the My Account (work/school) portal.
