How do I talk to a representative? What number can I call? All I get is AI and they hang up on me.

Since January 2025 I have been billed $6.73 every month. I don’t know what subscription it is for. I have called several times to inquire about it, but I can’t speak to a representative. The AI that answers the phones, say they cannot help me. They suggest that I go online to aka.ms. I don’t know what product I am being billed for and don’t know if it is a consumer product or business product. At one time I was told that I would get a refund and billing would be stopped, but I did get my refund and I am still being billed. I don’t know what it is for.

    Hi Emilio De La Cerda,

Here’s what I recommend: sign in at https://account.microsoft.com using the same credentials tied to your billing card. Under Services & subscriptions, you’ll see all active subscriptions. From there, you can identify the product and cancel it if you no longer need it. You can also review your billing history to confirm what the $6.73 charge is linked to.

If you don’t recognize the subscription or cannot access the account, the next step is to contact Microsoft Support directly. When you reach the automated system, ask specifically for “billing support” and request to speak with a live agent. Providing proof of the charges (such as a bank statement showing the transaction ID) will help the support team locate the subscription faster.

It’s important to note that refunds and cancellations can only be processed once the subscription is identified and verified against your account. If you were promised a refund but did not receive it, support can re‑check the case and ensure billing is stopped.

I hope the response provided some helpful insight. If it addressed your issue, please consider marking it as Accept Answer so others facing the same problem can easily find the solution. If you need any further assistance, feel free to leave a comment.

    Jason.

To reach a human representative about unknown Microsoft subscription charges and possible refunds, use the official Microsoft support channels and choose the path that matches the type of account.

    1. If the charges are on a personal (consumer) account
      1. Go to the Microsoft customer service entry point for home users:
      2. Sign in with the Microsoft account that might be associated with the charges.
      3. Describe the issue (for example, “Unknown monthly charge – need billing agent”).
      4. When options appear, choose chat or request a call so a support agent can contact by phone. The system calls back, so there is no need to dial a direct number.
      5. Ask the agent to:
        • Identify which subscription is generating the $6.73 charge.
        • Cancel that subscription.
        • Check eligibility and process a refund for unwanted or previously promised refunds.
    2. If the charges are on a work or school (business) account
      1. If there is access to the Microsoft 365 admin center, the organization’s admin should:
        • Open the admin center and go to Help & support.
        • Search for billing help or “manage volume licensing” if applicable.
        • Submit an online support request so Microsoft billing support can call back.
      2. Business users can also use the same customer service page above under Business Users and follow the notes for online support requests.
    3. If accessibility or disability support is needed
    4. If a refund was promised but charges continue

If the account type (personal vs. business) is unknown, start with the Home Users → Get Help path and the agent can help determine which account and product the charges belong to.
