Good day Edwin Wilson!
From what you shared, you’re using a new Windows 11 computer and, after completing initial updates, the PIN stopped working and the “I forgot my PIN” option doesn’t respond at the sign‑in screen.
Since this is a brand‑new computer, if the PIN still doesn’t work after trying the steps suggested by Q&A Assist, you could consider using Reset your PC > Keep my files. This option reinstalls Windows while keeping personal files, though installed apps and custom settings will be removed. Because you’re unable to sign in to Windows Settings, the reset can be started from the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE).
Notes:
- After Reset this PC, Windows will ask you to sign in again with the same Microsoft account that was previously used on the device.
- If device encryption is enabled, it’s also important to have the BitLocker recovery key available, as Windows may request it during the reset process.
Hope this could help. Feel free to post back if you need further support!
