How do I or you stop this browser from showing up when I open my computer? I use Edge, and it's convering it up. Also, how in God's name do we have to jump through hoops just to get answers?

    Hi Jo Ann Anders

I’m sorry for the frustration, this should be straightforward.

To stop Google Chrome from opening when you start Windows:

    1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager
    2. Go to Startup apps (or the Startup tab)
    3. Find Google Chrome, right‑click it, and select Disable
    4. Restart the computer

    If Chrome still opens:

    1. Open Google Chrome
    2. Go to Settings → System
    3. Turn off “Continue running background apps when Google Chrome is closed”
    4. Close Chrome completely

After this, Chrome will not open unless you launch it manually.
