Hi! Before attempting to recover your account, you should clean your PC. The hacker may be using your computer to break into your account. Even if you recover it, they could hack it again if you don't take action.

It's recommended to reset your computer in these situations. Go to Settings > System > Recovery > Reset this PC.

After that, you should try recovering your account on another computer or mobile phone.

You can try using the Microsoft Sign-In Assistance Tool.

If you're unable to recover your Account, you'll need to use the Recovery forms. You can try these two forms:

These are the methods Microsoft provides for account recovery. I have already used the recovery form, and I managed to recover my account after a few days.

    • You can submit the form multiple times.
    • Try to remember important personal information.
    • Look for old emails that may have been sent to friends or family.
    • Don't give up. The form works if you provide accurate information. If it didn't work like that, anyone could steal your account.

Follow these steps to try to recover the hacked Microsoft account that is used for Minecraft:

    1. Run a malware/virus scan on the PC
      • Before changing any passwords, make sure the device is clean.
      • If using Windows 10/11, open Start, search for Windows Defender, and follow the instructions to turn on protection and run a full scan.
    2. Use the official hacked/compromised account recovery flow
      • Go to the official guide: How to recover a hacked or compromised Microsoft account.
      • Use the Start link in that article (the sign-in helper). It will ask for the email or phone for the Microsoft account and then guide through:
        • Self-service recovery if possible, or
        • Options to talk to an agent, depending on eligibility.
    3. Reset the password and secure the account (if sign-in is still possible)
      • After confirming the PC is clean, sign in and immediately change the password to a strong, unique one.
      • Then review account security settings as described in the same article:
        • Check connected accounts, forwarding, and automatic replies to ensure nothing malicious is configured.
    4. If the hacker changed security info and recovery keeps failing
      • If the recovery web form or helper tool says the information is incorrect or the account cannot be recovered, and the hacker has replaced the email/phone/security info, there is no other supported method to regain access.
      • Microsoft Support and community forums cannot bypass the automated recovery process or manually restore access once security info has been fully taken over.
    5. For the Minecraft game access
      • Recovery of the Microsoft account is required to fully regain control of the Minecraft license tied to it.
      • If the Microsoft account cannot be recovered via the official process, contact Minecraft Support separately (as indicated in the Q&A references) to ask if any alternative options are available for the Minecraft profile.

    For any further attempts, always:

    • Use a device and network previously used with the account.
    • Provide as much accurate historical information as possible (old passwords, approximate creation date, purchase details, etc.) in the recovery flow.
