Hi Gail
I understand you are having problem with turning off Conversation view in New Outlook for Mac, and you also mentioned you cannot revert to Classic Outlook. Have you tried the AI given steps? What is your Outlook version/build (Outlook > About Outlook) and your macOS version, and do you see View > Show as Conversations in the menu bar?
Meanwhile, please follow:
Option 1 (New Outlook for Mac)
- In Outlook’s top menu bar, select View.
- Select Show as Conversations to toggle it off (so it is not enabled).
Option 2 (Workaround if you only need it off immediately while staying on New Outlook for Mac)
- Use Outlook on the web (Outlook.com) where you can switch off conversation grouping for the mailbox view:
- Select Settings (gear) > Mail > Layout.
- Under Message organization, choose the option to show email as individual messages (not grouped by conversation).
- If you prefer using the View menu in the web/new experience, you can also use View > Show as Conversations to toggle it on/off.
Please note that turning off Conversation view does not require reverting to Classic. If your main goal is only to stop conversation grouping, try Option 1 first.
Please tell me how it goes. If the problem persists, please don’t hesitate to reply to this thread and I will be happy to help. Have a lovely day!
