The Buy now ($499) workflow at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/support-for-business does not work. No luck with any of the 1-800 MS numbers either.

Can someone help?

Many thanks.

    Hi @Arky Cunanan ,

Just checking in were you able to get the support incident created?

If the Buy Now ($499) option was still failing, can you confirm:

    • whether you tried with a personal Microsoft account (not work/Entra ID)
    • and if you tested in a different browser or InPrivate mode

If you're still stuck, let us know exactly where it’s breaking (sign-in, payment page, error message, etc.), and we can guide you further.

    Thanks,
    Akhil.

To buy a professional support incident for SQL Server 2022 running on-premises, use the Support for Business portal and ensure the correct sign-in and workflow are followed, as there are known limitations depending on account type and support plan.

    1. Go to Support for Business and sign in
    2. Start a new on-premises support request
      • From Manage support requests, select Create a new support request.
      • Step 1: Tell us about the issue you are experiencing
        • Select the product as an on-premises product (for example, SQL Server 2022) and describe the problem.
    3. Choose how to pay for support
      • Step 2: Tell us about the type of support you need
        • If you already have a support agreement (for example, Partner, Visual Studio, or other professional support), select it here.
        • If you do not have an agreement or want to buy a one-off incident, expand Do you need to purchase or expand more support plans? and use Buy Now to purchase a Pay Per Incident (PPI) support case.
    4. Important limitation for Pay Per Incident
      • Pay Per Incident is not available when signed in with a Microsoft Entra account because of a system limitation.
      • To use Buy Now (PPI), sign out and sign back in with a Microsoft account (MSA) such as an Outlook.com account. Then repeat steps 2–3.
    5. If an existing support agreement is not appearing In Step 2, if a support plan is missing or the Buy Now path is failing, expand Do you need to purchase or add more support plans? and check the Unavailable support plans section. Common reasons a plan does not appear or cannot be used:
      • The agreement has not been added/associated to the current sign-in account.
      • The support agreement has expired.
      • There are no remaining incidents.
      • The product/version is not enabled for that plan (for some benefits, the product must be in mainstream support).
    6. Completing the purchase and request
      • When using Buy Now with an MSA, the workflow will prompt for credit card details and associate the payment with the current sign-in account. The card is charged immediately, subject to the Microsoft Services Agreement.
      • Continue through:
        • Step 3: Provide primary contact information (this contact will work with the support engineer).
        • Step 4: Share this support request (optional additional contacts).
        • Step 5: Verify information.
        • Step 6: Submit request.
      • After submission, only the primary contact receives the email with case details, but both primary and additional contacts can track and manage the case from Manage support requests.
    7. If the online workflow still fails
      • Use the general Contact support entry point: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?linkid=2135360 and choose the appropriate product and support path.
      • For business scenarios, the Support for Business link is also exposed from the “More support options” section.
