Hi Gregory Farr,
Thanks for posting and explaining what you’re experiencing. I understand how disruptive it can be when the volume bar keeps appearing on screen.
To help narrow this down and avoid repeating any steps, could you please share what troubleshooting you’ve already tried so far and what the results were?
If you haven’t tested it yet, I suggest checking whether the issue occurs in Safe Mode. Safe Mode starts Windows with only essential drivers and services, which can help determine whether this behavior is related to software or something else. If the volume bar does not appear in Safe Mode, it usually points to a driver or background service. If it still appears, that can help rule out software causes.
To enter Safe Mode:
- Go to Settings > System > Recovery
- Under Advanced startup, select Restart now
- After the device restarts, choose Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart
- Once the options appear, select Safe Mode (or Safe Mode with Networking)
While in Safe Mode, please check whether the volume bar still stays on the screen.
Once you’ve had a chance to test this, please let me know what you observe and I’ll be happy to advise on the next steps.
Thanks for your patience and I look forward to your update.
