Surface Laptop Studio - Charging port not taking a charge (Warranty Fix Needed)

The problem is that the charging port on my Surface Laptop Studio is no longer taking a charge. I have two different (MS/Surface Brand) charging cables that were both working yesterday, so I'm confident it's not the cables. The laptop does take a slow charge via USB-C, but that's not sustainable.

The real problem is that I have an extended warranty that I'm trying to use with it and I'm getting the run around with trying to set up a fix. Going from my account, to device, to Device Service & Repair, takes me through a process where I can choose to mail in my laptop or have it fixed in-person. I chose in-person, which takes me to "ubreakifix by asurion". Then to start a claim from there, it takes me to Asurion's website and asks me to select which warranty plan it's under. There is nothing listed under Microsoft or Surface or anything even near it, so I have no idea what plan to pick.

I tried calling the ubreakifix location closest to me and they told me they didn't know why the website was doing that and they only started contracting with MS for service towards the end of last year, so they don't know how it works. They told me to contact MS Support, but that only keeps sending me in circles to what I've already done. I can't find anywhere to talk to an actual person.

If you have any advise, PLEASE HELP. My warranty end date is approaching. (Thankfully this happened just before instead of just after as it often does.)

Before you can check your warranty or get service, you may need to register your Surface.

    1. Sign in to Microsoft account | Select device for service.
    2. Choose the device that needs service, select Next and then follow the instructions to complete your service request.
