How do I download visual C++ 2008 Express without a Visual Studio subscription

@PHILIP DEYOUNG I agree with @Bruce (SqlWork.com) that downloading Visual Studio Community probably makes the most sense. It has many more features than the old Express offerings.

There is no supported download except via a subscription. You probably can find a download searching the internet.
but why? You should just download the free visual studio community which has full rather than limited c++ support.
