As the title says. Teams is unmuted and I want to use my physical mute button on my headset so I dont have to be tethered to my device to mute and unmute.

Teams seems to be intruding on my device and unmuting it when there is no reason for it to

    Hello @Trevor Long

I’ve noticed that many users are experiencing the same issue. This happens because Microsoft Teams uses HID (Human Interface Device) integration to keep the mute status in sync between the app and your headset. If Teams still shows your microphone button as Unmuted, it will override your headset and switch it back to Unmuted after a few seconds to maintain synchronization. In short, Teams is the one controlling the mute state, not the headset.

In this case, I still recommend using the "software mute button" inside the Teams meeting window, or using the keyboard shortcut (Ctrl + Shift + M), to ensure a smoother experience and to avoid any embarrassing situations in the future.

I will keep you updated if I find any workarounds or receive any reports about this issue.

If you still need my assistance, please come back with screenshots or any additional details so I can review it again and see if there’s anything more I can help you with.

    Have a nice day!
