How do I get my correct address bar back?

I need my old address bar back. I did not change it; Microsoft changed it without my permission.

Please help.

None of the answers resolved the problem and it happened again. I don't know why my favorites bar keeps changing and moving my favorites around. Not only that, but something is also duplicating my favorites, so I have multiple lists. Yes, I run the remove duplicate program, but it keeps happening.

I just want my original favorites back in the bar and the duplicating of all my favorites to stop.

If anyone can help me, I would appreciate the help.

    Thank you.

    Dear Krava2,

I can understand why that would be frustrating, especially if the address bar layout is not the one you normally use.

To help narrow this down, could you tell me:

    • Did the address bar move to a different position, or does it just look visually different?
    • Are the tabs, profile icon, or toolbar buttons also in a different place now?
    • Does turning off Try the new look and feel of Microsoft Edge bring back the layout you want?
    • Could you share a screenshot of the current layout and your Edge version from Settings > About Microsoft Edge?

In the meantime, if by “old toolbar” you mean the Favorites bar changed or started showing differently, please check:

    • Settings > Appearance > Toolbar > Favorites bar
    • Then choose Always, Never, or Only on new tabs depending on how you want it displayed.

While my initial response may not fully resolve the issue, I truly appreciate your cooperation as we work together toward identifying the most effective solution. Thank you so much for your understanding.

To restore the previous look of the address bar and toolbar in Microsoft Edge:

    1. Open Edge.
    2. Go to Settings:
      • Type edge://settings in the address bar and press Enter, or
      • Select Settings and more (the three dots in the upper-right) > Settings.
    3. In the left pane, select Appearance.
    4. Turn off the toggle Try the new look and feel of Microsoft Edge.

This returns Edge to the classic look, including the older style of the address bar and toolbar.

If the profile icon position also changed and needs to be moved back:

    1. Still under Appearance, select Toolbar.
    2. Turn off Show profile icon in the title bar to move it back to the right side of the browser.
