When i open edge the search bar shifts left. Is that a Microsoft edge problem or is that a jailbreak or malware?

    Greetings!

This is Tin, sorry to hear that your MS Edge search is switching left. I'll do my best to help.

May I know when did the issue start? Is there any changes made before you got this issue?

Kindly send the version or build of your Windows (Please press Windows key+R and type winver and hit enter)

    1. Please try to clear cache and cookies, to do that, please press CTRL +SHIFT +DEL then choose the Cache also Cookies, then hit Clear Now.
    2. Reset MS Edge. Please open Microsoft Edge. Please click on the three dots from the upper-right corner and select Settings, look for Reset settings in the left part menu, please click Restore settings to their default values. Please confirm by clicking Reset. Close and reopen your MS Edge and check if the issue persists. Note: This will revert most of your browser settings to their defaults, no worries as it will not delete your saved bookmarks, password etc. it will just reset the settings like Homepage, Startup tabs, extention and search engine.

Please let me know how it goes.

    Thanks,

    Tin

The search bar shifting slightly when Microsoft Edge opens is typically a display or layout behavior, not a sign of jailbreak or malware.

To rule out common Edge issues:

    1. Make sure Edge is up to date
Go to Settings and more (⋯) > Settings > About Microsoft Edge and apply any available updates.
    2. Restart the computer
A running process or graphics glitch can cause brief UI shifts. Restart the device and test Edge again.
    3. Clear cached data (if the behavior seems tied to a specific page or profile layout)
In Edge, select Settings and more > History > Open history page > Delete browsing data.
Choose All time, select Browsing history and Cached images and files, then Clear now.
    4. Repair Microsoft Edge (if the glitch is persistent or Edge is unstable)
      1. Close Edge for all users.
      2. Go to Start > Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
      3. Select Microsoft Edge > Modify.
      4. Approve the prompt, ensure the device is online, then select Repair.
    5. Scan the device for malware if there are other suspicious symptoms (unexpected pop‑ups, redirects, fake virus alerts, etc.)
Use Windows Security as described in the "Stay protected with Windows Security" guidance linked from the Edge troubleshooting article.

If there are no other signs of compromise (fake support pop‑ups, forced redirects, or constant crash loops), this behavior alone does not indicate jailbreak or malware.
