My tabs keep deleting every time I close. The Internet edge.

1, Make sure browsing data isn’t cleared on close

• Open Edge > Settings
• Go to Privacy, search, and services
• Select Choose what to clear every time you close the browser
• Ensure Browsing history is turned OFF
• If browsing history is cleared, Edge cannot restore your previous tabs.

2, Confirm startup behavior

• Go to Settings > Start, home, and new tab page
• Select Open tabs from the previous session

3, Avoid InPrivate or Guest windows - Tabs opened in InPrivate or Guest mode are not saved between sessions

4. Check the active Edge profile - Make sure Edge is reopening under the same profile you used previously (top‑right profile icon)

If you ever close Edge unexpectedly, press Ctrl + Shift + T after reopening to restore recently closed tabs or windows.

In Microsoft Edge, tabs from the previous session are only restored if startup and privacy settings allow it. There are two main things to check:

1. Confirm startup is set to reopen previous tabs
   1. Open Microsoft Edge.
   2. Select Settings and more (⋯) > Settings > Start, home, and new tab page.
   3. Make sure Open tabs from the previous session is selected.

Make sure browsing data isn’t being cleared on close If Edge is configured to clear browsing data every time it closes, it can remove the information needed to restore tabs, even when “Open tabs from the previous session” is selected. In that case, only the URLs may persist, or the session can appear “lost.”
   1. Select Settings and more (⋯) > Settings > Privacy, search, and services.
   2. Under Clear browsing data, select Choose what to clear every time you close the browser.
   3. Turn off options that clear session-related data (especially Browsing history) if the goal is to keep tabs exactly as they were.
