I do not have an option to share my screen in the "new" teams

I am able to share individual windows, but I no longer have the option to share one of my screens like I was able to in the "old" teams. Is this a setting issue or is it no longer an option?

    Hi @Rosendahl, Brandon,

Thank you for posting your question to Microsoft Q&A Forum.

In the current Microsoft Teams, the admin of the organization is given more about to control how users in their organization present there content. Full screen sharing may not appear if meeting policies restrict it while still allowing window sharing.

Please reach out to your IT admin and ask them to verify at:

    • Teams Admin Center > Meetings > Meeting policies User's image
    • Open your organization policy, under Content sharing, confirm that Screen sharing mode allows entire screen

If you're using two monitors, both screens from your two monitors will be shared. However, you can prevent this by changing your display settings to "Extend desktop" instead of "Duplicate desktop". This will allow you to share only one screen while keeping the other screen private. To change your display settings, right-click on your desktop and select "Display settings". From there, select "Extend desktop" under the "Multiple displays" section.

If your admin restrict screen sharing to Single application (window) only, you will see only Window sharing and not the see Screen 1 / Screen 2 like the image below.

You can refer to your admin this Manage meeting policies for content sharing document and let your admin to recreate a new meeting policy and reassign to you, it shall take some time to take effect (maximum up to 24 hours).

In the new Teams, the ability to share an entire screen vs. just a window is controlled by the meeting policy setting Screen sharing mode in the Teams admin center. If only individual windows can be shared and no full-screen option appears, the user is likely assigned a policy where ScreenSharingMode is set to Single application instead of Entire screen.

To restore full screen sharing, a Teams admin must:

    1. Go to Teams admin centerMeetingsMeeting policies.
    2. Open the policy assigned to the affected users.
    3. In the Content sharing section, set Screen sharing mode to Entire screen.
    4. Select Save and allow policy changes to propagate.

Alternatively, an admin can use PowerShell with Set-CsTeamsMeetingPolicy to set ScreenSharingMode to EntireScreen for the relevant policy.

Once this policy is updated, the Screen (entire desktop) option will appear again alongside Window and other sharing options in the new Teams client.
