Hello, Hamzah Kattan.
The presence of a "chemical" odor, as well as strong heating, are very bad signs. I recommend contacting the service center to diagnose the device. In the meantime, it's better not to use it.

So I noticed that my surface pro 9 has a weird smell coming from the vents and I'm not exactly sure why. I've also noticed that there is a pressure spot in the middle of my screen and the device gets really hot really fast.
The laptop is around 2 years old and my main concern right now is battery leakage due to aged degradation.
Should I be worried and get it checked at a repair shop or is this normal?
