My Mac updated last night and now my signature in outlook has spacing that was not previously there. When I go into the signature tabs to fix this, it appears as normal. How can I change this without changing it every time I create an email?

Frustrating, but if you open the signature in the sig editor, select all and clear formatting it removes the double spacing. I had to manually go through and re-format the areas that I wanted bolded etc.

I created a new signature and it is no longer auto adjusting the space.

If your Outlook signature has changed spacing after a Mac update, it may be due to how the signature is rendered in the email client. Here are a few steps you can take to address this issue:

    1. Check Signature Formatting: Go to the signature settings in Outlook and ensure that there are no extra spaces or line breaks in the signature. Sometimes, hidden formatting can cause issues.
    2. Simplify the Signature: If your signature contains complex formatting (like tables or multiple fonts), try simplifying it. Use basic text formatting and avoid special characters, as they can sometimes lead to rendering issues.
    3. Create a New Signature: If the current signature continues to have spacing issues, consider creating a new signature from scratch. This can sometimes resolve hidden formatting problems.
    4. Update Outlook: Ensure that your Outlook application is updated to the latest version, as updates can fix bugs related to signature rendering.
    5. Contact Support: If the issue persists, consider reaching out to Microsoft support for assistance, as they may have specific solutions for your version of Outlook on Mac.

Unfortunately, there is no direct setting to automatically adjust spacing for signatures in every new email, so these steps may help you manage the issue more effectively.

    @Vergil-V

When will Microsoft fix this bug with the new release as I also have the same issue? My signature now is now double spaced since new release on MacOS Outlook.

If I copy from the area I edit signatures it doesn't have the issue. It will take me too long to re-create my signature.

    Please advise.

    Hi @Brandi Naquin

Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

I tried to reproduce your situation on my test Mac running macOS Sequoia 15.7.1 with Outlook for Mac version 16.106, and the signature did not show the spacing you described.

To better understand your situation, may I clarify the following?

    1. Does this behavior also appear in Legacy Outlook for Mac
    2. What is your current macOS version and Outlook for Mac version

In the meantime, you may try creating a completely new signature to see whether the behavior persists.

If all other troubleshooting steps do not help, you may also consider uninstalling Outlook for Mac and reinstalling it using the updater.pkg, which can be downloaded from: Update history for Office for Mac - Office release notes | Microsoft Learn

I hope this provides some additional insight. If you have any updates, please feel free to share them.  I look forward to hearing from you.
