MS Teams - Guest account not showing in Online Version

Hi,

I am experiencing new issues with MS Teams and synchronisation every day now. After some glitches with OneDrive (I had to reset the app) i noticed one of my guest accounts in MS Teams was gone. I looked that up and did the usual recommended fixes - Signing Out of the app, clearing the cache (which did not work fully due to the terminal command being "not possible") I ended up deleting the app an re-installing it. Only then I noticed that the guest account I was looking for is missing in the online version of MS Teams as well. BUT: I can see I have it in my account in "Organisations" and I have access to this files in Sharepoint.

Any ideas how I get the access in MS Teams back running?

    Hello @Florian Berndt,

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A Forum and thank you for your question.

Before I guide you through any troubleshooting steps, I would like to better understand the situation so I can assist you more accurately.

May I confirm whether this guest account is being added to a tenant that belongs to another organization? When you are added as a guest under another tenant, you should receive an invitation email that contains a link giving you access to that organization’s environment. Please try copying that link and opening it in an incognito or private browser tab. After doing that, try opening Microsoft Teams again and signing in to check whether you are able to access the guest tenant properly.

If this guest account actually belongs to your own personal Microsoft account and you previously invited yourself into your own tenant, you can follow the same process. Remove the existing guest entry, send a new invite to your email, open the invitation link in an incognito tab, and then sign in to Teams again to see if the access loads correctly.

I also noticed that you mentioned you can still see this guest account listed under your “Organisations”. Could you please send me a screenshot of that screen? It would help me confirm whether the tenant is still associated with your account or if something else may be causing the issue.

At this stage, I want to be sure that I am interpreting your situation correctly. If I misunderstood anything, please feel free to clarify and I will adjust my guidance accordingly.

Thank you very much, and I look forward to your reply.

    Kind regards,
