I want to close my Outlook Email account as it has been hacked and I no longer need it

If you can still sign in, go to account.microsoft.com sign in, select Your info, then choose Close your account and follow the steps shown. Microsoft will verify your identity and place the account in a 60 day closure period. After 60 days, the email address and all data linked to it are permanently deleted.

If you cannot sign in because of the hack, complete the account recovery form first at account.live.com/acsr secure the account, then request closure from the account portal.

To close your Outlook email account, you will need to go through the Microsoft Account Close Portal. Here are the general steps you should follow:

1. Sign in to the Microsoft Account Close Portal with your Microsoft account credentials.
2. Review the list of actions you should take before closing your account and complete any that apply to you.
3. After completing the necessary actions, select Next.
4. Acknowledge that you understand the consequences of closing your account, and then select Mark account for closure.

Please note that your account will be closed in 30 days, and you can reopen it at any time during this period if you change your mind.

If you are facing issues accessing your account due to hacking, it is advisable to reset your password and secure your account before proceeding with the closure.
