The loud noise sounds like a series of beeps. Only happens when I use Google Meet on my new Surface Pro. I tried it on other online conference apps, all works fine.

    Dear Ten Sochon

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A Forum.

Based on your description, the primary concern is localized audio interference (beeping) that occurs exclusively during Google Meet sessions on a Surface Pro. This can happen due to compatibility between Google Meet's noise processing and Windows audio features, like enhancements in the Realtek drivers common on Surface devices.

To give you the most specific and effective steps, please clarify one thing before I confirm anything:

    • Are you using Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome?
    • Are you using the built-in Surface microphones, or a Bluetooth/wired headset?
    • Are you using the "Google Meet" Progressive Web App (installed from the browser) or just a standard browser tab?
    • What is your Windows version (Windows 10 or Windows 11)?
    • Does the beep happen immediately or after speaking? Any Realtek Audio Console app installed?

Here are the most effective steps to resolve this:
