I am attempting to allow Copilot to use voice and have activated all of those features within the System Privacy & Security settings. While reviewing System Sound settings, I noticed that Input shows No input device found. I wish to use the internal microphone for the Surface Pro. How do I activate the internal microphone?

To activate the internal microphone on your Surface Pro, follow these steps:

    1. Check Privacy Settings: Go to Start > Settings > Privacy & security. Look for Microphone under App permissions and ensure that Microphone access is turned on.
    2. Allow Apps Access: In the Microphone settings, make sure that Let apps access your microphone is turned On. You can also specify which apps can access the microphone by going to Choose which apps can access your microphone and turning on access for the relevant apps, such as Copilot.
    3. Check Device Manager: Right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager. Expand the Audio inputs and outputs section to see if the internal microphone is listed. If it is not listed, it may indicate a driver issue.
    4. Update Drivers: If the internal microphone is not appearing, you may need to update your audio drivers. In Device Manager, right-click on your audio device and select Update driver.
    5. Check DFCI Settings: If you are managing your Surface Pro with DFCI (Device Firmware Configuration Interface), ensure that the settings for microphones are configured to allow the built-in microphone to function. If the setting is disabled, enable it to allow the microphone to work.

Following these steps should help you activate the internal microphone on your Surface Pro.
