Hi, so I can sign in to my Microsoft account using methods like the Authenticator app or sending a code, but whenever I try using my password, it always shows the message, 'Password is incorrect. Please try again' on both my PC and laptop. I've tried resetting my password several times, but it never works. I have tried to set it to some really easy to remember passwords to make sure that I was 100% typing it in correctly, but it always said that it is incorrect. I ignored it at first, just using my authenticator app and codes to sign in, but recently those have stopped working as well, but just on OneDrive on my laptop, since the codes and the authenticator app works on my PC. The authenticator app shows no code I have to press, and there isn't any sort of code sent either, which means that I cannot sign in to my OneDrive at all on my laptop and I have no access to any files on it. However, at the start of September (about 2 months ago) my Microsoft account was hacked, and because of this I made a new Microsoft account and used that account on my PC, but I haven't converted my laptop to that account yet since I was trying to recover the files saved on my old account's OneDrive, but after a while I gave up so I tried signing in to the new account on my laptop, but like I said, It doesn't work, and I don't know if it's because of any of that. Any sort of help on this would be well appreciated. Thank you.

    Hi Gabriel,

It sounds like your laptop might still be holding onto old account info, which could be causing the password and OneDrive issues. Here are a few quick steps you can try:

    Clear saved credentials

    • Open Credential Manager (search it in the Start menu).
    • Go to Windows Credentials and remove anything related to your Microsoft account or OneDrive.

    Reset OneDrive

    • Press Windows + R, type:%localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset
    • Press Enter. This refreshes OneDrive and may fix the sign-in issue.

    Remove and re-add your account

    • Go to Settings > Accounts > Email & accounts.
    • Remove the old account, restart your laptop, then add your new account.

    Check your Authenticator app

    Try signing in via browser

If none of this help, it might be best to contact Microsoft Support directly since this involves a previously hacked account.
