Hello

I have been having this issue for a while now. I have a Surface Pro 11. I put my laptop head down to the keyboard for it to sleep/hibernate. When I lift the head back up, two things happen:

  1. the screen appears for log in, my camera light is on but a message appears saying "Couldn't turn on camera - please sign in with PIN". i then have to sign in with the PIN. Once I am in, and I go to the Sign-in options in the settings, to try to improve recognition (which I have done nearly 50 plus times), the camera is not being picked up.
  2. The screen remains black, but the camera light is permanently on. I cannot do anything, I cannot even see the mouse. I have to put the head back down and wait about 5-10 minutes before I raise the head again and wait for it to wake up. At times, that doesn't even work either.

I have done ALL the troubleshooting suggested by Microsoft, that is removing the camera drivers (and restarting), updating the drivers to the latest on the Microsoft website, all Command Prompt searches and requests (scannow etc), Surface Pro software and hardware diagnostic, Device Manager (Device manager screenshot is attached showing the camera drivers), all of which DO NOT resolve the issue nor even identify a issue.

Please can someone help with something to do other than the above repeated steps? This is becoming hugely frutrating. It is a £1800 laptop and the camera doesn't even work properly, or consistently. This is extremely disappointing. I need a PERMANENT solution to this.

My device specifications and windows specifications are below:
